Mystery Space Dig Kit · Ages 6+
First, dig up the crew.
Chip around a buried edge. Brush away the dust. Is that a bootprint? This kit hides an astronaut, a rocket, a UFO, a footprint and obsidian across five separate blocks.
Children do the digging first. Then they have four space-themed toy pieces to arrange into a landing scene, plus a dark stone to examine and keep.
5 dig blocks · 5 finds · 1 tool set

The collection
Four pieces for the story. One stone to inspect.

Astronaut
The tiny explorer at the center of your landing scene.
Rocket
A pointed nose and fins make it easy to tell apart from the round UFO.
UFO
A saucer-shaped craft with a raised center and colored details around its rim.
Footprint
A small square piece with a bootprint pattern. Look closely at the tread.
Obsidian
A dark, uneven stone. Compare its surface with the smooth shapes of the toy pieces.
The footprint is a toy impression. The obsidian is not a Moon rock or meteorite.
Once the dust settles
Stage the first landing.
Grab a sheet of paper and a pencil from home. Draw a landing circle for the rocket, then place the astronaut and footprint nearby. Put the UFO somewhere unexpected. What happens when the astronaut spots it?
Let the footprint start the story.
Did the astronaut leave it, or was it already there? Move one piece and tell the next part. The same four toys can become a takeoff, a landing or a surprise encounter.
Paper, pencil and the drawn scene are your additions. The kit supplies the buried finds.

Pick your starting point
Five blocks, opened at your pace.
Choose the gray cratered block, yellow planet, blue saucer, pink astronaut or rectangular block. Open one and leave the others intact for another session. There is no need to finish the box at once.
Packed with the blocks
1 hammer, 1 chisel, 1 brush and 1 illustrated Mystery Space guide. The five discoveries are hidden in the blocks.
Sharing the box? Let one child dig while another brushes and checks the finds, then swap. There is one tool set, so this is a turn-taking activity.
You’ll need a covered table and a tray or paper for the debris. A tray is not included.
At the table
Keep the tool beside the find, not on it.
Start at the surface
Read the guide, cover the table and set out one block. Use the chisel to scrape away small amounts, with light hammer taps when needed.
Clear the hidden edge
As a piece appears, work around it. Brush off the loose material so you can see where to place the chisel next.
Lift out and set aside
Free the piece before lifting it out. Brush it clean and put it somewhere safe before clearing the debris or opening another block.
Box & handling
The details for your shelf and table.
WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD — Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.
An adult should supervise tool use. Keep digging material away from eyes and mouths, gather the debris and wash hands afterward. Store unopened blocks and the five finds in a dry place, out of reach of younger children and pets.

Before you choose
A few useful distinctions.
Is this a gemstone collection or a figure dig?
It is a mixed set: four space-themed toy pieces and one piece of obsidian. Choose it for a child who wants to dig and then play with the discoveries.
Do the rocket or astronaut need assembly?
There is no model-building step in this kit. Dig out the pieces, brush them clean and arrange them for play or display.
Can we stop after one block?
Yes. The five blocks are separate. Leave the unopened ones intact and store them with the tools and guide until the next session.
Can we repeat the excavation?
Each block is a one-time dig. Afterward, keep the toy pieces for your landing scenes and the obsidian in your collection.
Reading for parents
From a finished dig to open-ended play.
The crew is still buried.
Bring them to the surface, then choose their landing spot.
